History

Sandhurst Town Boys & Girls F.C. was formed in 1980 to provide football facilities for the young people of the Sandhurst area. Next year, 2010, STBGFC will celebrate 30 years in football - but we are not a club to sit still, we will simply strive to improve all aspects of providing football to our local community.

The current facility consists of football pitches owned by Sandhurst Town Council which we utilise for both midweek and weekend matches together with two sets of changing rooms. The original changing facilities were built by ourselves and extended in 1988 entirely through our own resources.

Since its formation, many hundreds of youngsters have enjoyed learning, developing and honing their football skills at Sandhurst, in a spirit of teamwork, having fun and achievement.

STBGFC have many coaches who played for the boys & girls club which offers continuity and adds to the history of the club.

Ollie BirchSteeped in the clubs history is our relationship with IVO Velden in Holland. Both clubs have exchanged visits for over 25 years and is still running strong to date.

The picture on the right is Ollie Birch, who won the coveted Lewis Marsh Player of the year for 2008/09. This award was presented by Jill Marsh (Lewis sadly passed away at the tender age of 14 through a heart related problem). STBGFC support CRY - Cardiac Risk in the Young - and Jill is heavily involved with this charity.

All the managing, coaching, administrative and support work is voluntary and we recognise the huge commitment given over the years by so many of our local community.
